try to remember this...

in the midst of chaos

i only see you
this run down place is beautiful
because you are in its space
come closer to me
who cares if they stare

Close your eyes
try to remember this
just below your ear, the bend of your neck
the warmth of your body
i breathe you in deeply
your hair blows around my face
i never want to forget this
please remember this

you intoxicate me
nothing could ever be this good
there is no where i would rather be
as long as i can breathe you in
try to remember this
i never want to forget this

the flowers start to bloom
that old place aches of you
i visit in its run down state because it holds the last piece of you i held
your memory
my memory
i wish i could remember how the touch of your hand feels
i can see it so clearly but the sensation is fading
time is an enemy that steals everything beautiful
i need a reminder but im scared ill never
if i close my eyes i go back to that moment

just below your ear, the bend of your neck
i try to breathe you in but reality wont allow it
i dont want to forget this
try to remember this

If You Don't...Don't.

Oh, today, today, today. Woe is me. It has been madness. This is just a week full of mad. I was bombarded this morning with BS. After bringing a stack of files and numbers that have to be redone to my desk the operator tells me I have a call on line one. I pick up this call. It's our central billing office. There are some random payments that need to be processed. I usually take this call once a week. My billing cohort stock piles payments for me and then we have a conference call where she will give me the list. These calls take about a half hour or more. I started to take notes on the information given when I hear my name being called..once, twice..I ignore this. Then a tapping. On the shoulder. Finally I turn to see the op. She politely informs me that I have a call on line two. Ummmm.....How can I answer and speak to TWO different folks at the same time?? This is not possible.

If I were on a personal call I can understand this logic. It's a polite way of saying..Hey get off company time you have a caller. This was not the case. I just nodded at the op and went on with my call thinking she would tell the other person that I was on a conference and to call back. No. She did not. I was so frustrated I halted my conference call to pick up the other call. This person had some type of billing issue with NPI numbers and stuff I DON'T EVEN DO. This call was to go to the boss.

Not only did you interrupt me you interrupted me for BS that doesn't even belong to me! Screen the calls...don't farm them to anyone. It causes frustration with the patient and employee and it makes the company look bad. I got stuck on line two, listening to this person bitch for ten minutes about how she had been thrown about the phone lines. Nice.

In other news, funny story today: I traveled to the front building to run said payments mentioned above. James came over to give me some tabs for my all time favourite Jimmy e.w. song: If You Don't, Don't. I am currently learning to play this on my guitar. I was going over the tabs and one of my reception girls came over to nose. She looked at the tabs and said: "Oh, are you going to learn this Johnny Eat World song?'

Peeve List Part Three

Okay..I am trying so hard lately to be a Positive Pammy. I just can't today. My irritation has peaked and it's getting worse as this day progresses. I have a few peeves:

Number One/A: Making Change.
I am in Accounts/ Jack of All Trades at my job. I keep a change fund for my girls up front. They collect money and often need change in five dollar bills and one dollar bills. I keep a bank of two hundred in fives and ones at all times. With the checks and balances I filter in the fives and ones so we ALWAYS have them and only twenties, tens and up go to the deposit. It's a pain in my ass to go to our bank to replenish this fund. Our bank is located on The Five..which is Waldorf Maryland = MADNESS. Plus, you go in to make change and the line is always coming out the door. This is an hour event. Usually I can change it out and it will last me for about a month and a half before I get caught into going again.

I am so peeved at co-workers who decide to go for lunch and split everything and they come to me with twenties wanting to use our company fund for change. It's not a big deal if it's one of you..but they come back and drop four twenties on my desk and say: Have at it!

Fuck off pal! I know it's a pain but prepare or go get your own freaking change. Anything in excess is bad. Four twenties is REDICK.

Number Two/B: Overuse of perfume.
Not sure why some folk feel the need to douse themselves in a scent. I wear perfume everyday. I typically put it on at my home before coming to work. My co-pilot behind me sprays it on herself all day. I have not complained. Normally it's subtle vanilla or something. Today its like French Whore'O De Toilette. It is GOD AWFUL! My tummy gets so sick with continuous strong smells. I am a very nauseous person anyway but smells just elevate it. She has sprayed herself three times today and I will say, if I need to vomit it will be in her direction.

Okay, sorry for the negativity. I had to get this off of my chest.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

Who Invited You??

"Jocks like him always want freaky girls. Girls with horn-rimmed glasses and vegan footwear and Goth makeup. Girls who play the cello and wear Converse All-Stars and want to be children’s librarians when they grow up. Oh yeah, jocks totally eat that shit up. They just won’t admit it because they’re supposed to be into perfect cheerleaders"

This totally reminds me of my Hubs. He is your regular preppy-khaki and a polo, beach vacation, golf playing, tennis and soccer coach-guy. I don't think he owns a black t shirt.

Me? I am a funny t shirt, retro styled, tattooed, horn rimmed glasses, cherry cola highlights, guitar playing kind of gal. To me I think its sometimes odd to see us together because we appear to be so different. In fact, we have very similar personalities but if you are judging a book by its cover-which most do- it appears that we are opposites.

I say this because, well, this Saturday I am going to prom! It is my first prom. I never attended functions when I was in high school. We are stopping by, not chaperoning, so hubs can see his students. This is the first year he has consecutively remained at a school for four years in a row. So students attending prom he would have had in ninth grade and up. So this equates to about a half hour to an hour long visit. Shiny, glittery, bedazzled prom gowns are NOT me. At all. The dress I ended up finding and falling in love with is like a vintage style or a party dress type thing with skulls on the bottom. I had to wait before purchase because I needed to find out if this tea length would be chaperone/teacher appropriate for stopping by. I received the "go ahead" yesterday so I went to try it on and purchase it . I will be wearing these darling shoes:

I have a funny story to my shopping excursion I will share :

So while trying on said dress yesterday the sales lady was very lovely. She offered to give her opinion since I was shopping solo and if I needed anything or had any questions to let her know. So I took the dress in to the dressing room. It took me forever to figure out how to put it on because it has these weird strappy things and then the little shirt is sewn onto the dress so you have to confondle (totally just made that up) your arms into that and the zippy is on the side and I was SO confused! After ten minutes, I got the thing on. I wanted to see it without my shoes ( White and Black NB tennis shoes..not flattering with a dress) so I had to get those guys off..then I snapped a pic with my camera phone of me in the dress to send off for opinions. After this I dressed in my regular clothes. As soon as I put my scrub top back on I was then trying to figure out the strappys on the dress in order to get it back on the damn hanger..another process. Here comes "Nicey Sales Lady". She bangs on the door and asks if I'm okay.

Ummmm, Yes. Thank you.
Then she asks if I need any help.
Ummmm, No.
Then she opens the door! To MY dressing room!! Is this normal?? Who does this?
I have personal space issues. That was not an open offer to come on in and hang out! What if I was in my knickers??
Who invited you ass clown?!!
I was slightly taken aback. Hmm...maybe I'm just old fashioned but I do not like to undress/dress in front of strangers. Sales lady or not. :)

"...Thats Me In The Spotlight Losing My Religion.."

Talking with Ma the past two nights and religion keeps coming up and we have different views and beliefs systems. She asked me what I had against organized religion. I thought this was funny because I don't normally share my beliefs with people because this discussion never goes anywhere productive if both parties are not open minded. By open minded I mean, NOT, that you need to compromise YOUR beliefs, but only, do not judge me for mine. Most folks don't know anything about my beliefs and I am fine with this and I am not going to spill them here on the world wide web. I just wanted to repeat some valid points that were brought up in discussion because I think they are important in life, not just religion. So keeping with the subject here goes: ( thanks for the blog topic Ma :) )

I find that today most folk in a religion have a feeling of ethnocentrism. They are the one true religion. This is fine and good if this is what makes a person happy and able to function normally. I just don't understand this whole concept of: you need to switch jerseys in order to play for the right team mentality. I think society as a whole has not gotten over this and it amazes me. Jews, Christians, Muslims, Atheists, they all have different schools of thought. Does this make their particular thought pattern wrong? NO! If I don't believe Jesus was the messiah and I celebrate passover doesn't mean I am going to eternal hell! If I don't even believe in hell how can I very well go there?

If one is strong in their faith why would it even bother you so that someone else has a different belief system? Again, your belief isn't compromised by another person, completely separate from yourself, having a different belief. This belief doesn't make that person wrong or crazy. This goes for anything really but I think its more prevalent in religion. Who cares if I wear socks over top of my shoes on Tuesdays and Wednesday. Maybe strange to you but if that's How I do..then you know what? That's How I Do! If I am happy and you are happy who cares? Just because we are different doesn't make one of us weird/crazy/abnormal. We are just different. Everyone is.

Regardless of any of these schools of thought I would just like to see a general consensus of the thought if you are happy and it works for you then I am happy for you! This seems like more of a thought pattern of a kind and loving God.

Just a Thought...Not a Sermon.

"..Wait For Something Better.."

It is coming to the end of the line for The Bookworms. Two friends at work, I will call them Amber and Snack, decided to join up to read and discuss books. We wanted to read the Sookie Stackhouse series. First assignment was to read Book one by the end of May. I speed read so after Edgar Sawtelle I picked up Dead Until Dark (book one). I initially was a little disoriented about it. I ordered book two and kept going. By mid-way I hated the book and by this time my Book Two had arrived. I am now at the very, very end. I have about ten pages to go and I don't even want to finish it. Nothing about it agrees with me.

The funny part is my fellow bookworms feel the same! Snack has been keeping close contact with me on each chapter she trudges through and she has a love/hate relationship with it. Amber got to chapter two I believe and decided it wasn't worth it. Now that Snack and I come to the end of this book I am left wondering if we will ever agree on a book to read simultaneously again. We all seem to have different tastes but shared a common interest in Twilight and thought this would be fun. Myself: I love the classics, drama-character novels. Novels that make you think about what is going on and re evaluate yourself in the process. Snack: is more of an romance, easy reader. Amber: still likes young adult fiction or love stories.

Seems the book worms will be laid to rest. It was good while it lasted.
In other news...I took a few pictures this weekend. Not too many. It was so freaking hot outside and I was late, late, late everywhere I went so I ran out of time. I did get to have an awesome band practice on Saturday for a few hours. I worked on my song but didn't get to sing. That evening I ended up doing a little recording and sent my final product out for listening. It was a big hit with those I was able to share it with.

I am also thinking of attending prom. ha ha..Yes, I am 28 years old. I have never been to prom and Hubs was asked to chaperon this coming Saturday. I would require a dress. I don't "do" dresses. At least not fancy schmancy ones. Hubs has to check on the dress code and if chaps are able to wear tea lengths or skirts, in a more relaxed environment, I have the most perfect dress picked out. Here it is:
It's so me. Yes, those are tiny skulls.

On the other hand, if I am required to wear a ball gown..I'm out. I don't want to be uncomfortable. I'll keep you posted :)

Manic Monday #165
What's the best summer job you ever had? I worked at the P.D. Brown Memorial Library over the summer of 9th grade. I did office work, which was kind of boring. My most favorite part was puttting the books away. That old library smell, the organization of it all and feeling like for the first time I was apart of something. I loved it.

Tell me about the worst date you ever went on. It involved a guy named james and a scary clown, who james had cleverly told my name so it could taunt me.

Do you think the age for a driver's license should be raised (currently 16 here in the U.S.)? I am Switzerland on this subject. No opinion, nuetral. I think it is what is.

Sunday Stealing!

Sunday Stealing: The Mud Meme

7. Favorite holiday spots? My house. On my couch.

8. Reading right now? I am finishing Dead Until Dark. My little book club at work decided we would read it and all three gals hate it! It's interesting to say the least. I realized I hated it about half way through so I now feel obligated to finish it. I only have about 20 pages left. I am thinking of reading The Shack next. Or Alice in Wonderland. Have not decided.

9. 4 words to describe yourself. Smart, Witty, Silly, Artistic

12. Planning to travel to next? I don't know. No plans at the moment.

-"i love it! it's amazing! your voice is fucking amazing penny! why don't you just sing everywhere?" (after sending a recording of my latest guitar playing and singing)

-"Who is the lucky guy who gets to be on your t shirt?" (after viewing my I Heart Jim shirt)

"..Such a Lovely Day.."

The show last night was amazing. Firstly, no traffic driving there and I had the most perfect driving music <3 Clarity by Jimmy e.w. We were semi-late for the opener, a band from Kansas City called Republic Tiger. They were really, really good. Most times openers end up not being my style. It's a rare thing that I want to purchase the openers music after a show. Aside---> This is actually how I found Travis. Back in 1999 I went to see Oasis play and Travis opened for them. Their set blew me away! The following day I went out and purchased The Man Who and I have been a fan ever since. Each album consistently gets better. Okay back to Republic Tiger<-- I was so very impressed by RT. They kind of sounded like a more alternative version of The Cure. I purchased their album on itunes this morning. Lead singer:

Look strikingly like someone I know?? ha ha.. Always nice.

Travis was absolutely phenomonal. Remember my set list wish list from yesterday? yeah, they played everything on it. Even Blue Flashing Light, which I was stoked about. They also played All I Want To Do Is Rock which is amazing everytime I see it live. They ended with Why Does It Always Rain on Me and a beautiful acapella version of Flowers in the Window. It made me smile :) Which made me feel like a giant goober. ha ha. I love seeing Travis. Their fans and so warm and welcoming and they are all about the music and the band really connects with the audience everytime. This show is falling into one of the greatest shows I have been to.

As far as the B & E incident, I parked in a gated parking lot behind the club. Upon exiting the club Brian observed: "Hey Penny, Your car is still here!". ha ha ha. This after asking me upon arrival if I hired an armored sniper to watch over it while I was inside. Another reason I love Brian...While driving him to the PennAve Metro, direct quote: "Make this light! If you do not make this light I will hate you. Randomly. I will just randomly hate you".

ha ha..Needless to say I made the light.

All in all, great night. I am making it through work alright as well. I had some killa coffee from kc.

The Music Memoir Five on Friday! If you have not been to this blog, check it out. It's pretty rad!

Top 5 artists you wish would put out new material soon and why.

Of course I am obligated to say Jimmy Eat World <3 They are currently writing new stuff. Can't wait for the end result. I'm sure I will love it.

My Chemical Romance-It's time. Lets go boys

Keane-I simply can not get into their last album. It's shit and almost sounds nothing like them. I hope next go around they go back to their core sound.

Muse-Seriously. It's time. In fact, it's way overdue!

Curious to hear the new Third Eye Blind stuff

"I Want to Sing..To Sing My Song.."

Tonight is Travis! Excited to see them again. An old concert buddy, Brian will be meeting us at 930 Club to hang out. Should be a good time. It always is! I don't know of a set list. I can usually tell you the entire set list to a Jim show before I attend but anyone else..I'm clueless. Here are a few favourites I am hoping to hear tonight:

Selfish Jean
My Eyes
New Amsterdam
Pipe Dreams
Flowers in the Window
Blue Flashing Light
Writing to Reach You
As You Are
Drift Wood
Why Does It Always Rain On Me?

It's going to be a long night. I have issues sleeping so I am estimating that I would normally be up at the time I get home tonight so why not go into work at my normal time? I have never been one to do this. Even though I have such difficulties sleeping I really feel like I want it and need. I have never been one to stay up all night or go out really, really late and then rise early. I can't do that. I guess sleep and myself have a love/hate relationship. Either way, this should make for an interesting night and an interesting day tomorrow.

Wordless Wednesday..Love, Love, Love

Creep of the Day

Just a few things of note for today.

In two days I will be attempting my first visit to the district since the infamous "B and E". I will be visiting the 930 Club to see Travis, a band I love, love, love. I usually see Travis everytime they come around, which is not saying much because they don't visit often. Needless to say, will NOT be parking in the same spot as the infamous "B and E".
Hope they play Blue Flashing Light.

To whoever goes to the copy machine and sets it to three shades darker and to make 100 copies, front and back of an item.
Don't be such a giant Jackhole. Hit CLEAR or RESET when you are finished sucking the life out of the machine. I get so frustrated when I go to make one copy of a reciept and it starts printing like mad. It always makes about 5 copies when you finally realize whats going on and you hit Cancel and clear to stop it but it waits until it makes about 10 copies to actually cancel the job.
Thanks a lot Asshats. Mind your manners, so I can mind mine.

Tuesday Stuff!

Ten on Tuesday

Ever watched a movie that got bad reviews, or didn’t do well at the box office and think to yourself, “Man, this should have been a HIT!!!”?

1. Office Space

2. Stranger Than Fiction

3. Charlie Bartlett

4. Big Fish

5. Death At A Funeral

6. Unbreakable/The Village (anything by M. Night Shyamalan). That man is seriously amazingly genius. His movies are SO much more than what you think..the problem is, people don't like to think these days they just want to be entertained. With Night there is always something more behind every story, line and image. It's beautiful.

7. Alice in Wonderland (Everyone is creeped out about this. It's amazing)

8. Little Children

9. The Talented Mr. Ripley

10. Starter for Ten

Tuesday Tunes: Week 78

More and more TV shows are getting soundtracks these days. Do you own any or have any on your wish lists? I believe back in the day I purchased an Alley McBeall soundtrack. ha ha ha.

Have you ever discovered a song or artist because it was on a tv show? Never really an artist but I did discover "I'll Take Care of You" by The Fray from Intervention on A&E. Great song!
What TV show do you wish had a soundtrack but doesn't just yet. I don't really know. I don't watch a lot of "shows". I think the only telly shows I watch are In Treatment on HBO and they don't do a lot of music since it's mostly talking (hence therapy) and The Office-which is fashioned like a reality show.

"..I Am But One Small Instrument.."

To summarize my weekend: I finished Edgar Sawtelle. Very sad to be done with it. I find that I grow quite attached to some characters in books. Especially those who are well written. It was an amazing book. I'm excited that my friend B over at You Take The Cupcake is reading. Can't wait until she finishes <3

My brudder came over to stay the weekend. We went to pick up Number 4 from Hunan Star and on the way home I had to go through a giant maze of a detour. I live near a beach community and the infamous "Tiki Bar Grand Opening" was this weekend. This draws EVERYONE out! Causes mass confusion, traffic and ignorance for miles! I detoured around this mess and ended up getting stuck in an accident traffic for an hour! One hour. I exaggerate not my friends. I was surprised to see that a car full of boys in front of me in traffic were partaking in alcohol in their vehicle! I couldn't believe this! I mean, I know people do this sort of thing but I have just never seen it. I am terrified of drinking and driving. It's not for me and I just don't get it when folks do this. It's so very dangerous. Hubs was stuck in the same traffic but he was a mile ahead of me. He text me to inform me that some younger folks in the car in front of him were also partaking in some beer. Ha ha..craziness. Guess they couldn't wait for the bar.

Saturday I went to see 17 Again. I loved this movie. I know they have made this a million times over, 13 Going on 30, Big, Freaky Friday etc. The thing is: I love all of those movies so I figured this one would be no different. Plus it has Zac E. in it. He is sooo pretty <3
Saturday night Hubs and Brudder had a fondue festivity. I am not a fan so I just ate some veggies and played Scene it on the XBOX 360 and let them chime in when I was stuck on answers. It was a good time. Sunday I escorted my brudder home. I had every intention of stopping at this beautiful old church in Historic St. Mary's. It was built in 1812. It's amazing. I wanted to photograph it. I usually make mental notes of areas I want to shoot and this one has been on my mind for over a year I have just never made time to do it. It's so out of my way. This day was the perfect opportunity. Plus the weather was amazing. I blasted Clarity by Jimmy Eat World and put all the windows down. There is nothing like a country road with scenery, Jimmy Eat World, beautiful weather, no place or time to be, just you and your thoughts. Amazing.

In the end I had a malfunction with my camera and couldn't take pictures but I have a plan of going back. Hopefully next Saturday, if weather permits. All in all, nice weekend. I hope everyone else has a weekend as lovely as mine.

Manic Monday!

Manic Monday #164
Describe to me your favorite lounging clothes. Right now? A loose fitted plain white t <3>

If you promised to never lie again in your lifetime, in what area would it be hardest to uphold the promise? I would have to say in communicating with people. I have a hard time being the real me so most get a water downed version. I'm trying to get over this. I'm a work in progress.

Give a one word answer to the question "why is life worth living". Love

Edgar and Moving On..

Have you ever read a really great book and you mourn its finish? I am about to mourn the loss of The Story of Edgar Sawtelle. I finally got a huge chunk of reading in this week and I have read the last half of the book with the exception of the last 7 or 8 chapters. I know as soon as I pick it up I am going to roll through it and it will all be over. I love this book. It's one of those that gets into your soul and takes hold for days.

Last night while reading one of the big turning point chapters I was crying my eyes out. This author just writes so beautifully it almost rips your heart out.

"All her life she had found whatever she had been asked to find and there had only been one thing ever. Now he was truly lost, gone away, crossed into another world, perhaps, some land unknown to her from which he could not return...She stood broadside in the gravel and turned her head and asked her question. Asked if it has seen her boy. Her essence. Her soul. But if the traveler understood, it showed no sign."

I will say nothing of the story because I don't want to ruin anything for anyone who may pick up this book..Only that I hope you do. Give it chance. It's truly worth it.

Now I just need to find something worthy to proceed Edgar <3

Music Memoir! Five on Friday!

Top 5 songs that make you want to party.

hmmm...I can't just answer anything. I have to over analyze. Ever notice that ANAL is the beginning of "analyze"..mmhmm...yeah. Totally fitting.

So I don't really "party" in so many words. A party for me is like attending a cookout and having a glass of coca cola on ice. I'm relatively boring. So I will be changing this to more of a "Top 5 Songs That Make You Want to Rock Out/Get Your Blood Flowing/etc". Here it Goes.

1. Anything from the 50's and 60's. Growing up we always listened to this so I associate it to cookouts, BBQ's and gatherings of fun. Like Supremes, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Dion and the Belmonts, Frankie Lymon, etc.

2. The Middle and/or Pain - Jimmy Eat World

3. Chelsea Dagger - The Fratellis

4. Tune Out - The Format

5. Anything by Taking Back Sunday or My Chemical Romance. Total Rock out... \m/
6. Stockholm Syndrome - Muse

Photo Challenge

I love taking pictures. I wanted to go out last Saturday but it ended up raining all day, all weekend. This week has been one rainy mess as well. My weather man said this morning that Saturday looks like it will be 70 degrees and clear! I am very excited about this and I really want to get out there. I found a photography challange community that I am going to participate in called Thursday Photo Challenge. Basically they give you a theme and you go out and photograph your interpretation of it throughout the week or select a previously taken photo on the subject. This weeks theme is SIGNS (Traffic, Building, Neon, Peace Signs, Graffiti, Religious).

Here it Goes:
